This website is a personal project by James Utley, based in British Columbia, Canada, to share his book People Working. We keep things simple here, and that includes how we handle your information.
What we collect, and why
Sign-up form: your name and email, so we can email you about the book — that's all it's used for. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email and we'll remove you within 10 business days.
Book purchases happen on FriesenPress, Apple Books or Google Play, under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details.
We may also use basic, non-identifying analytics to see how many people visit the site.
We never sell, rent, or share your information beyond what's described here.
Where it's stored
Our website host and email provider may store data outside Canada, including in the US, subject to that country's laws.
How long we keep it
Sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, or 24 months after you sign up — whichever comes first.
Your rights
Contact us to see, correct, or delete your information — we'll respond within about 30 business days, as BC's privacy law (PIPA) requires.
Security and changes
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no site is 100% secure. If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top.
